Project Based Learning- The Tree Poster-
Three Branches of Government
Directions/ Task for the Poster Project
Create a tree with roots and a trunk
Place a sign “The Constitution” around the trunk
Label the roots as the Roots of Government (you will have 4 roots labeled with the names of the 4 roots of government. Please identify one idea that the Framers got from these roots.
Place The Father of the Constitution on/in the tree – you will need to label him Father of the Constitution and also label his real name. (be creative with him – he can be anything!)
Place 3 branches on your tree- label them Legislative, Executive, Judicial
Put an image of the government building that is home to each branch on/in the branch of government it belongs with (Remember Do not use the images on the front of your 3 branches packet)
You will need to make 31 leaves. Remember leaves are not white, so you will need to use colored paper or colors to create your leaves (they should be shaped like leaves and can be different sizes).
Each leaf could be a power of that branch of government.
Each leaf could be the leader of a branch of government (Judicial branch- Chief Justice, Executive Branch- President, Legislative branch- Speaker of the House and Vice President)
You will add information/facts to each branch.
The Grading Rubric on the back lists the information that needs to go on the leaves.
You need to clearly write the item (from the rubric) and your answer (found in your notes
You will need to turn in the Grading Rubric. - See the link at the bottom of this page
