HOW A BILL BECOMES A LAW - Assignment
Choose one of the following options to show how the federal law-making process works in America (how an idea turns into a bill that then becomes a law). It should include: inception, introduction, committee work, lobbyists, floor debate, voting, both chambers of Congress, and the President’s role.
OPTION 1: FLOW CHART
Create a flow chart demonstrating complete the lawmaking process. This flow chart must be illustrated appropriately. Use color and unique design to “spice it up!” Label each step. Use construction paper, poster board, or some other type of “fancy” paper.
OPTION 2: CARTOON
Create a colorful cartoon, using as many panels as necessary, in order to fully explain how a bill becomes a law. The cartoon must be illustrated appropriately. Use color and unique design to “spice it up!”
OPTION 3: STORY
Write a story demonstrating complete understanding of the lawmaking process. The story should be from “Bill’s” perspective. Explain how you bring “Bill” to life. The story should be approximately 1 - 2 pages in length, typed. Be sure to develop the characters, and a plot including a conflict and resolution. The story must be typed according to school guidelines.

OPTION 4: SONG
Write a song that demonstrates the complete lawmaking process. The song should be approximately 2 – 5 minutes in length. Record the song to and produce a typed copy to turn in.
OPTION 5: Other
Create your own idea that demonstrates the lawmaking project.
