Project Based Learning- Different Forms of Governments
Goal: Governments around the world take on many different forms. However, governments fulfill the same purpose: to provide control and direction to the people that live under its authority. The purpose of the project is for students to examine, compare, and present information on an assigned form of government and country. Students will be assigned one of the following forms of government: Constitutional Monarchy (United Kingdom), Oligarchy (Sudan), Theocracy (Holy See), Democracy (Switzerland), Republic (France), and Dictatorship (North Korea).
Use a poster board to illustrate all information.
Your poster board will be divided into four squares.
Each square will contain a different topic.
The name of your nation should be in the center of the poster and be large, bold, and easy to read.
You must either type or neatly hand write all information on your poster.
All sources used on the project need to be listed on the back of the poster.
Students will present their project to the rest of class
Presentations need to be between 3 to 5 minutes
Create a powerpoint (about seven slides long, that provides an outline of the information)
It would be helpful to have a map and images of the form of government.
If you have any questions, ask for clarification.
